Zhenjiang Foreign Affairs Office (ZJFAO),
as a specialized administrative department for foreign affairs
of Zhenjiang municipal government, is responsible for implementing
national foreign policies, dealing with major foreign-related
affairs of the region  and
guiding local friendly exchanges with the outside world. Zhenjiang
FAO operates under the guidance of the Foreign Affairs Office
of Jiangsu Province and Zhenjiang Municipal Government.
Since
China¨s reform and opening-up, Zhenjiang Foreign Affairs Office
(ZJFAO) has achieved a successful functional switch from sole
reception of foreign guests to foreign affairs administration
and services. By adhering to national foreign policies and promoting
local economic and social development, ZJFAO has organized many
friendly exchanges with foreign countries in the fields of politics、economy、science、culture、education
and sports. Up to now, 7 international sister city relationships
have been established between Zhenjiang and Tsu(Japan)、Kurashiki(Japan)、Tempe(USA)、Iksan
Rok(Korea)、Londrina(Brazil)、Lac-Megantic(Canada) and Izmit(Turkey),
many friendly exchanges developed with the cities in USA、Japan、Germany、Britain、Australia、Belgium、Bulgaria、Romania
and Chile, and a number of bases for friendly exchanges with
the outside world founded, such as Zhenjiang Friendship Hall
(Pearl S. Buck Research Center)、Sino-Japanese Friendship Garden
of Plum and Cherry、Zhenjiang-Meizu Friendship Library、Jiaoshan
Hill Calligraphy Tablets and Chinese Garden in Mannheim, Germany.
